HELL is now able to deliver craft beer and wine* to customers through a partnership formed with Best Wine Co. When ordering HELL food for delivery, customers will be eligible to purchase either one six-pack of Parrotdog beer or one bottle of Lost and Found wine for every $10 they spend on food. We look forward to providing high-quality beer and wine to HELL customers to enjoy with their meal.
HELL will act as a third-party delivery agent (or courier) for Best Wine Co and will deliver the beer or wine with HELL food orders. We are aware we have a host responsibility, which is why we are offering quality not quantity through top range booze products and setting a requirement of a food-to-booze ratio, and going above and beyond liquor licensing requirements to ensure everyone involved has a safe & enjoyable experience. Vouchers for 'free items' e.g free wedges, will not be valid with booze orders. Dollar value vouchers and free delivery are valid with booze orders.
*Due to liquor licensing requirements, booze delivery is unavailable at HELL Queenstown, Bond Street, Wigram and Hillcrest.
If you have ordered booze before, we've updated the process so it is a hell of a lot simpler for you to get your hands on a bevy. No more separate payments for booze orders, just add it to your cart when ordering food.
So you want booze delivered straight to your lair? Here are the rules:
Available on delivery orders only. Only at participating stores*
You must place your order before 10 pm for delivery before 10.30pm.
You’ll need to pay with a debit/credit card·
For every $10 of food, you’re eligible for one booze item. For example, spending $19 worth of food allows you one six-pack of beer.
To order booze when using a discount voucher, at least a payment of $1 from your debit/credit card will need to be spent on food.
*excludes Bond Street, Hillcrest, Queenstown and Wigram stores.
Frequently Asked Questions:
Can I order booze without any food?
No, the beer and wine can only be purchased with food – maximum of one item (a bottle of wine or six-pack of beer) for each $10 of food purchased.
Can I buy booze on a pickup order?
No alcohol will be sold in store as we are not selling beer and wine - we are acting as a courier for Best Wine Co. We’ve chosen our partner Best Wine Co carefully, who holds the liquor license and already delivers beer and wine to customers around New Zealand.
Do I have to pay with card?
To pay for your food and booze delivery, you will need to pay by credit or debit card online so we can electronically identify the buyer and eliminate cash handling for safety reasons.
Why is HELL delivering beer and wine?
As a company, we’re always keen to offer our customers something extra and provide a fun experience. HELL will be the first quick-service restaurant to do this in New Zealand. We have chosen to stock Parrotdog, Urbanaut, and Liberty beers, Lost and Found, Kahurangiwine and Frontera wines as we feel these brands and their products fit well with our brand and food offering.
How will you ensure only people aged 18+ purchase beer and wine?
HELL and Best Wine Co. are going above and beyond legal requirements to reduce alcohol-related harm. We have a two-step verification process - at the point of sale and again upon delivery, where HELL Drivers will need to sight ID and have the customer sign a receipt.
What about the safety of HELL’s delivery drivers?
We take the safety of our drivers very seriously, whether or not they’re delivering alcohol. We already track our drivers through our own custom GPS driver app, which helps keep our drivers safe and connected when they’re out on the road.
How will HELL delivery drivers deal with obviously intoxicated customers?
We have a zero-tolerance policy when it comes to dealing with intoxicated customers. In this instance, only the food would be delivered, and not the alcohol. Any occasion the driver deems to be unsafe, or beyond their control, the customer will be reported and banned from using Best Wine Co’s service.
What about a liquor license, who is responsible?
Our carefully chosen partner, Best Wine Co., holds the liquor license. HELL will act as a third-party delivery service (courier) for Best Wine Co. This delivery service is similar to what is already offered by Best Wine Co. and other alcohol retailers. Our point of difference is, we deliver with food.
To meet legal requirements, Best Wine Co. verifies the age of the buyer as the customer enters the online store, again at the point of sale and, in addition, HELL’s delivery drivers will verify ID upon delivery.
