You loved HELL’s version of traditional Italian pizza so much the first time, The Beast and The Buffalo are back. After selling out in just two weeks earlier in 2019, we’re excited to unleash these pizzas permanently.
Inspired by time-honoured Italian traditions, and featuring free-grazing buffalo mozzarella from Caserta, we don’t think you’ll taste a better buffalo mozzarella in this life or the next.
“The first time around, our customers loved it, so much, in fact, we sold out, and HELL had to buy up all the authentic Italian mozzarella they could find in New Zealand to keep supplying demand - so we decided to bring it back!” says Callum Davies, Founder and Owner of HELL Pizza.
What’s your pizza style?
The Buffalo is our take on a traditional Margherita. It’s made with authentic Italian Buffalo Mozzarella, has a tangy tomato base, is finished with basil pesto, all on a hand stretched base.
Maybe you’re more of a meat-eater? Then The Beast is for you. A classic pepperoni pizza re-imagined and made with authentic Italian Buffalo Mozzarella, with Five-Pepper free range pepperoni, a tangy tomato base and on a hand-stretched base.
A HELL-ish take on Italian classics
This is the first time we’ve offered a traditional-Italian pizza at HELL, so we tested the recipes for Beast and Buffalo pizza many times to make sure we got it just right.
“There’s nowhere to hide with this pizza. With only three toppings, the balance of flavours has to be perfect. The base sauce and the mozzarella are very important. Sometimes the simplest of pizza’s are the trickiest to get right, but the customers who love it, really value the quality ingredients,” says Callum.

We’ve searched high and low for great-tasting buffalo mozzarella from happy buffalo. HELL only works with suppliers who are committed to animal welfare, and our buffalo mozzarella comes from Associate Farms in Italy who focus on the health welfare of their buffalo.
Our Buffalo free graze in the Italian sunshine (or mud if they choose) and are looked after by a team who understand a great tasting product is born first of all from respect for nature and animals.
